Born in Zabol,Iran, Soroush lived for a time in England before
emigrating to the US. He worked in mental health, treating severely emotionally disturbed and head-injured patients, and in education and rehabilitation of inmates about to be paroled. Retired in 2004, Soroush is currently enjoying his hobbies in photography and writing short stories. He has written a book, "Job Search Techniques for Ex-Offenders," and is a guest speaker for prison Re-Entry classes.
