Marleen C. Hoffman grew up in West Sacramento. In 1971 she moved to the Boston, Massachusetts, area and began what would become her passion: photography and painting. In 1976 she returned home to California and began her career selling her work. She has studied several other art forms including sculpting in wax, stained glass, printing and writing.

Today she dedicates her time to painting, photography, research and writing as well as gourds, art dolls and wood sculptures. Marleen's motto is: Learning is a lifelong process.
